In 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For instance, Genie went into manufacturing articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, telehandlers and stick booms.
Because of the economic downturn in the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The DC and Bi-Energy machinery provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machinery together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These equipment are great for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
