Jungheinrich LP Forklift
Lift trucks are essential pieces of machinery utilized widely in business, particularly in distribution centers, warehouses, industrial and storage handling facilities. A forklift truck is made of hundreds of components, including the cab, the carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks usually have various kinds of attachments as well. The following are several of the most important forklift components.
Lift Truck Engine - the lift truck is designed with a power source at the back of the machine. Different kinds of lift trucks have various kinds of engine that need varying power sources. For example, a lift truck with an IC engine can have as its power source any of the following: gasoline, diesel, LP gas or CNG gas. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.
Truck Frame - The truck frame is the base of the lift truck and the most vital of all the forklift components. This forms the core of the machine. All other lift truck parts are connected to the base, like for instance the overhead guard, counterweight, wheels, axles and mast. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks could be part of the frame assembly also.
Counterweight Lift Truck Components - While lifting heavy loads, the counterweight allows the machine to be balanced. This specific component is cast iron and comes connected to the back of the lift truck. The counterbalance balances the truck frame to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric lift truck provides balance and could work as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - The cab is also referred to as the operator compartment. Forklifts would sometimes have closed cabs whilst others would be open to the air. There are really numerous parts situated within the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such essential components like the seats, pedals, levers, switches, operator controls and steering wheel. The dashboard has operator readouts.
