Propane Forklifts
One inconvenience of propane tanks is to have to change, though there is little risk to running out of fuel on a propane lift truck. These models tend to be cheaper to use compared to the electric and diesel unit forklift. The debate to whether or not the propane emissions are cleaner compared to diesel emissions continues in the business.

The propane lift truck performs better than most electric models on the market today on jobs that need high applications and constant duty drive line torque. There are several electric models which are reputed to handle better or equally. Depending on the particular situation, propane lifts may or may not be suitable for handling eligible goods and food. As long as WorkSafeBC criteria are met, propane lift trucks are suitable for the majority of indoor applications.

The Disadvantages of LPG Propane Forklifts
The LPG's major drawbacks when compare to the diesel forklift includes the fact that they are not as effective when performing jobs which require high and or constant duty drive line torque. These models have a liability exposure, due to the possibility of a fuel system leak while the truck is situated indoors. Additionally, operators must be trained on the safe use of propane fuel. The rearward visibility off of the counterweight's back end is restricted. This is due to the location of the propane tank.

Compared to diesel and electric models, cost of fuel is higher with propane models. There are possible injury claims due to the frequency and weight which propane tanks are changed; roughly every 6 hours of usage unless the place has a bulk fill station situated there. Propane forklifts could be more difficult to start and run smoothly when they are utilized in cold temperatures. In remote locations, propane fuel is not always available at once. Over the next few decades, the fossil fuel cost is projected to rise dramatically. Consider and plan for overall repair maintenance costs, as well as the total cost of ownership to be the highest of the 3 options.

Depending upon what your particular applications are, there is definitely a possibility that the LPG forklift units will be ideal for you. It is better to take into account your specific lifting requirements and loads along with the kinds of environments you would be using the equipment in an effort to be sure that you purchase the right unit to meet all your needs.
