Caterpillar Narrow Aisle Forklifts
Narrow Aisle Forklift
Made to both lift and lower loaded pallets from storage spaces which are high is a narrow aisle forklift. This particular type is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering easy.
The operator of this kind of forklift normally stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: one in the rear, and two in the front. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire machine. The sit-down model generally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Electric-powered machines are quiet and do not make exhaust fumes, making them the preferred option for closed places such as retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Then again, the diesel version is not recommended to be used indoors as it could be quite noisy and produce exhaust.
